Micropigmentation is well known as a cosmetic procedure within the beauty industry, but what is less talked about is its important role in improving the quality of life for those whose appearance has been affected through trauma, accidents, or medical conditions, says Candice Watson of Exclusive Beauty, who practices her micropigmentation at various locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Giving them back a normal life

It is important to realise that this is not only a procedure for cosmetic beauty and vanity-it also has a positive impact on restoring people’s confidence and giving them back a normal life after suffering things such as burn scars, alopecia or breast reconstruction.

An estimated 183,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer occur annually in the USA; these fall into three categories based on their location and spread: EARLY INVASIVE and METASTIC.

The treatment options also vary depending on the cancer and the choice of the patient, but many of them will result in a partial or full mastectomy, taking away the breast tissue and the areola of the breast.

Make a huge difference

This is where we can make a huge difference to the patient aesthetically and mentally by replacing the areola after breast reconstruction and giving the breast an amazingly realistic-looking nipple again.

When dealing with patients who have got raised scarring or burn scars we do a treatment called MCA, this is a dry needling and dispersion technique which relaxes and flattens the scar and causes the scar to naturally re-pigment, this is a lifelong and permanent technique.

Alopecia or hair loss can affect many of all ages and cause not only the physical dilemma of having no hair, eyebrows, etc but also psychological issues with sufferers becoming self-conscious about having skin patches showing through hair or no eyebrows (eyebrows frame the whole face and it is very noticeable when they are not present)

Micropigmentation is amazingly effective in disguising this by applying natural-looking eyebrows or hair strokes.

Semi-permanent makeup with Micropigmentation

Candice has been treating women with semi-permanent makeup for nearly 20 years, and it has come a very long way since the days of the painful, noisy rotary machines that would take a long time to heal to the smooth digital high-tech machine she now uses, which is of the very highest quality on the market.

Semi-permanent makeup is now a comfortable and safe procedure that creates a natural and incredible beauty result. It is a treatment that is almost essential to anyone who wears makeup in the UAE! With the incredible heat and constant sweating here in the UAE, how wonderful it is not to have your makeup running down your face every day, to be able to just get up and go in the morning, or to come out of the pool still looking fabulous!

With this, you can achieve any look and colour, so you will look great all the time and save time and effort each day by not having to perform your make-up regime time and time again.

Use the correct colour

Micropigmentation works by implanting a pigment under the top layer of the skin to the dermis, which lasts for between 2 and 5 years, sometimes longer. The pigment is carefully chosen to match or enhance the patient’s skin tone; it is of utmost importance that colour theory is understood and the technician uses the correct colour, says Candice; unfortunately, many technicians have not been trained correctly in this, resulting in such things as blue or pink eyebrows and purple lips! Making the area stand out of the face instead of naturally blending in is the exact opposite of what you should aim to achieve.

Every client is looking for the ability to identify the correct colour and use the best techniques when applying micropigmentation, and these are the main skills I taught my students in my training school back in the UK.

After poor treatment

Luckily, Candice says, I also do removals of tattoos and micropigmentation, so when patients come to me after having a poor treatment, I can correct it for them.
Ms Watson, who used to practice in the renowned Harley Street in London, UK—a name synonymous with the highest standards of medical and cosmetic treatment available in the world—hopes that her skills will help to improve the quality of life for those in the UAE with aesthetic problems or looking to enhance what nature provides with the use of Semi-Permanent Makeup.

“I have treated thousands of clients over the course of my career, and I very much enjoy the ability to make women feel great when they choose micropigmentation as a form of semi-permanent make-up. But without doubt, the most rewarding aspect of my job is enabling clients to go out feeling happy and confident in themselves again.”

The Evolution of Beauty Enhancement Techniques

Semi Permanent Makeup Overview

Embarking on the journey to understand the supremacy of the machine method, SPMU begins with a comprehensive look at the evolution of semi-permanent makeup. From its inception to the diverse techniques available today, the world of beauty enhancement has witnessed remarkable advancements.

Microblading: Usine A Manual Blade

Microblading, a widely-known technique, involves manually implanting pigment into the skin to create semi-permanent eyebrows. While it has been a go-to for many, the limitations and nuances of microblading have paved the way for more advanced alternatives.

The Rise of Machine Method SPMU

Machine method SPMU, or micropigmentation, takes the art of permanent makeup to a new level. This technique employs a specialised machine to deposit pigments into the skin, offering precision and longevity that surpasses traditional methods.

The Benefits of Semi Permanent Makeup

Semi Permanent Makeup in Everyday Life

One key advantage of semi-permanent makeup is its ability to simplify and streamline daily beauty routines. By waking up with makeup already in place, individuals can save precious morning time, allowing for more efficient and stress-free mornings.

Time-saving aspect

In today’s fast-paced society, time is a valuable commodity. Semi-permanent makeup offers a time-saving solution for individuals with busy schedules who still want to look their best without spending hours in front of the mirror.

Enhanced Confidence

Semi-permanent makeup can also significantly boost self-confidence and self-esteem. For individuals with sparse eyebrows, uneven lip colour, or faint lash lines, semi-permanent makeup provides a natural-looking enhancement that enhances facial features and creates a more polished appearance.

Natural-looking results

Unlike traditional makeup, which can sometimes look heavy or unnatural, semi-permanent makeup is designed to mimic the appearance of natural hair strokes, lip colour, or eyeliner. The result is a subtle enhancement that enhances one’s natural beauty without looking overly made-up.
